A Welcome Word from our Pastor
You are invited to explore the riches of God's Word and discover a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ at Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church. In worship, study, fellowship and service we can grow in faith together.
Lutherans believe in the Triune God, the Bible, Salvation by grace alone in Christ, and love for all people. Our convictions are summarized in the Apostles' Creed. Our church is here to serve not only Custer County but the World. We support local evangelism and world-wide missions.
If you are looking for a church home, please visit us. If you need help please let us know.
Don't forget: God loves you. Jesus proved it!

Communions Guidelines at Hope
Communion is one of the precious gifts that God gives to his people as we receive the body and blood of our Savior, Jesus, who died on the cross to forgive all of our sins. To prepare for this sacrament, we follow the instruction found in I Corinthians 11:28: "Let each man examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup." Therefore, we ask that you review and affirm the following questions.
1. Do I believe that I am a sinner without hope of eternal life, except for God's mercy offered through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ?
2. Do I repent of my sins and turn to Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior?
3. Do I believe that with the bread and wine I receive the true body and blood of Jesus, not just a symbol of it?
4. Do I intend, with the help of God, to live a life that is pleasing to God?
We believe that your "Yes" to these questions indicates a common faith with our Christian congregation and we invite you to come receive Holy Communion with us.
*For those who need to avoid alcohol, there is a white non-alcoholic wine available at the center of each communion tray.
**Children are welcome to come forward for a blessing, but are generally not given communion until they have gone through basic instruction classes on the Christian faith, (typically during the Jr. High years).
