BOARD OF ELDERS

"Obey your Leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you." Heb 13:17

The Board of Elders consists of three members elected by the voting members for three-year terms. One Elder is elected each year. The Board of Elders annually selects one of its members to serve as chairman of the board.

DUTIES OF THE BOARD OF ELDERS:

1. Assist the Pastor in all matters of spiritual welfare of the congregation.
2. Consider the complaints and grievances of members of the congregation.
3. Encourage all members to be diligent in attendance and support of the church.
4. Oversee all worship services.
5. Assist the Pastor in providing pulpit assistance, special services and guest speakers.
6. Appoint, instruct and supervise the ushers.
7. Oversee the calling of a Pastor or Teacher.
8. Appoint the organist, choir director and their assistants.
9. Be an example of Christian conduct and conversation.
